There was a dance performance for the local children in the town square tonight.
It began with a 20-minute interpretive dance piece about... a woman washing clothes in the river? Maybe?
Then it transitioned to a short song about..... being poor? Maybe?
Then it moved to a brief dialogue which nobody could hear because the performers weren't mic'ed and it was outdoors, but there seemed to be a bit about "this is where my story begins". So obviously this was the intro and the story was "about to begin", right?
Nope! Out comes a group of people in costumes, the Gingerbread Man twerks, and then the director gets on stage and starts crying while she thanks everyone for their support.
I don't want to disparage the arts, but.... Huh?!
